Half Term Creativity

In what was undoubtedly the most challenging half term of my teaching career, and considering the earlier challenges posed by 2020, that’s saying something, I didn’t find a single moment to write from the end of August through until the middle of last week when the half term holiday was finally upon me. Seven weeks of mayhem at school meant seven weeks away from writing.

Despite now finally having time to write, I must confess I’ve not written as much as I had hoped to thus far this holiday. I’ve managed four chapters in the past ten days, but my writing has been

sporadic. I have, however, read five books written by other people and watched seven films. Enjoying the creativity of others has somehow felt more restful than writing, even though I do get lost in my work once I write. It’s also far easier to pick up where you left off in a novel you’re reading than in one you’re trying to write!

I had hoped, that I would manage to finish Fairytale book four and have it ready for publication by 23rd November. This would mean that I could publish it on the first anniversary of releasing my debut novel, The Greatest Gift. Unfortunately, I no longer think this is likely, as I’ve still got a lot to write, but I am not one to give up so I will still aim for this and will definitely keep working towards that goal. Even if I don’t manage my self imposed deadline, I will definitely finish the book as soon as possible because I would love to have it released before Christmas.

Thank you to all my loyal fans for sticking with me, and I promise that the Fairytale book four will be released just as soon as I can get it finished!
